Being of age and how to manage the sequence of returns in those early periods is what seems quite scary in the current market. The market is never a loser in a twenty year cycle, but the 2000s decade scenario scares me and could really disrupt my retirement. When you are no longer accumulating but withdrawing its hard to be anything but cautious.

In 1977 I bought a brand new BMW 320 from a BMW dealer. During its 1 year warrenty, by then, it used more time being repaired than by me. At first it got a new engine head (Faulty), then a new speedo and cable (faulty), one side window fell down, I had its drive shaft balanced because of unusual noise, still too much, its fuel system didn't function and it used much more fuel, and engine oil, than my two former, also new BMW 2002 had ever done! It was only 9 month old when I sold it for a new Golf Diesel, one of the very first! I never had another BMW

That "kink" in the drain was a factory problem-not something that developed over time. I guarantee it had intermittent electrical problems from day one (at least every time it rained), but because it was under warranty, various components were replaced over and over until it reached 90k. At that point it was out of warranty, and the owner had had enough. So the dealer buckled and agreed to buy it back under lemon law because in the years the dealer was replacing parts, they never found the issue. And the dealer fudged the blue smoke issue so as not to point out that the problem was their inability to diagnose the random electrical problems which I am sure made the SUV look like a lemon to everyone involved. And to the dealer's credit, it really was a lemon because that kink came from the factory. What's amazing is how a little kink from the factory didn't just ruin the electrical system but the entire SUV. smh

Well there is a chance they figured out that the car was wet. Im betting the floormats on the driver side was wet everytime it rained and BMW realized the fix was going to involve replacing all the modules and wiring harnesses on that side as well as the interior and just said, not worth our tech's time.

Sunroof drains are a common issue in any car that has them, for at least 35 years. Even my Acura had these problems. Just do basic exploration of the cause of the issue. The only difference with BMW is they are very electronics heavy so the impact can be worse. I recommend next time you do a google or forum search with the model of your car and then put "common problems" with it. You will be able to find all of these issues well in advance and save yourself a buttload of time and money.

Hi Sam I wonder if any of the previous techs that follow u have ever tried to find your issue, now once again u have hit a home run and found the concern and the cause however if u look back on your video to where the drain tube was u will see blue paint around it? Surely not factory finish lol, I think cars had a side swipe and it's been stripped for repair and the coach builder hasn't refitted the drain tube properly? Man I love this channel looking forward to the next project so u can get samcracking on it fella.....

i have a 2012 x5 m sport, had the same issue, right side of trunk was filling with water and shorted out my trunk module, Dealer cleaned those drains for 350, all to leak again after a week. Had to go back then they warrantied the front sunroof drains to be cleaned and "modified" the fender to allow drainage. Now i can finally have an idea as to what they probably did to stop the issue. Really good video thank you.

the drain hose on my volvo S40 goes down the A pillar and through the firewall, it came loose and leaked water into the carpet on the passenger side. When I finally realised what had happened both front and rear footwell was completly soaked. I sucked out over 13 liters of water from the floor and when I removed the carpeting.. mold everywhere. It was a complete mess but I got it sorted out fortunately with lots of work and a ozone clean. I was lucky not to get any electrical damage.

I got a 1999 Jaguar had water under the carpet issues, lots of different reasons. Rust in rear allowing water to come into the boot area. Rubber seals rotting in front and rear allowing water to bypass areas that would not as new allow it. Front engine electrical area has a small rubber gasket separating interior passenger seat from the engine bay and rotted allowing water from the windshield/a pillar to flow into the passenger foot well. PS Made sure I did not buy one with a sunroof for the specific issue that sunroofs leak over time. So I feel your pain Sam. Electronics ground corrosion hate water ingress for sure.

How low does your IQ have to be before you think that pouring ultra-corrosive sodium hydroxide into the inside of the unibody of your car is a good idea????? And jesus christ a drill and a zip tie????? All that it needed was for you to access the drain on the outside and pull it through the hole further to take the kink out of the tube. I'm fucking mind blown by the shade tree fuckery here. This is an entirely new level. I can almost guarantee it still wont drain well enough to deal with heavy rain and especially not any debris that may makes it's way into the drain
