This song reminds me of two people who love each other, but the partner dies of illness or a sudden accident. Bittersweet song about acceptance of the loss of that person, but that you were happy to have been together regardless of how tragic they had to part. Reminds me of a friend of mine, his girlfriend whom he planned to marry dies of pancreatic cancer and it was really a sudden thing. They were together for 3 years and she died in 4 months. Tragic, he was there on her deathbed, but you know he told me he never regreted being with her and he would've chosen to be with her even if he could go back in time. That really stuck with me and this happened many years ago now.
