I loved the colors, but most of the outfits seemed basic and uncreative.

Honestly I feel the costume and set design completely elevated the show. I am in awe at all the beautiful dresses. How I wish we could live day to day wearing these clothes.

It’s like an improved version of Reign (also a historical tv show with modernised historical costumes). Tho both shows has amazing fashion

Basic idea is beging generous. ThThese costumes like the books are an American fantasy of Regency England. So visually striking but the dresses silhouettes are totally ruined by the fact she has most of the then dresses cutting through the bust! It is so frustrating. I wish she actually had done some proper research rather than wikipedia. I also realise when you have 7500 costumes that you have to cut corners,

The costumer NAILED the way the gowns were described in the books especially the Featherington choices of those OTT yellows and oranges and adding too much to everything! I mean it really brought the characters to life!

I’ve watched the first couple of episodes, it’s pretty and an escape. I wouldn’t read much more into it, it seems to be catering to the younger masses, bit of a mills and boon ring to it. Its a bit of light drama for a Sunday arvo. 😁🇦🇺

I was literally describing this show as an elegant Tim burton color scheme and a WELL written dialogue of the almost Romeo and Juliet style trope all the corny YA movies have been about and missed the mark on in the past 5 years. This show is escapism at its finest. I love it and I’m praying for a season 2

Why even say that it is set in the Regency period when nothing in the show actually relates to the period, neither in terms of costume nor in terms of societal etiquette But then again, it is a show made by Americans so...

Corsets without chemises/ shifts underneath Tight lacing corsets when then silhouette is empire waist and doesn't even show off the figure... when they'd normally wear stays without boning, what were the costumers thinking exactly?

Is the the show that attempts to re-write history to appease the cultural Marxists / intersectional racists?

Daphne's wardrobe in the show were my absolute favourite I was stunned at every scene she was in!! Not a single one was bad. I haven't watched a show that had me so in awe of the clothes, even some of the Featherington dresses were so beautiful!!

If she is so good- why do the empire waists hit every actress mid-boob? Also, why does our lead wear basically the same dress in the same color throughout the entire season? Not a fan.

If the bar was set so high, why did many of the gowns not fit at the bust--with the waist falling around the underbust, not exactly under the bust? I'm thinking about poor Penelope in those yellow polyester sacks she often had to appear in.

Also, if you're "sticking to the basic foundation of the 1813 silhouette" why not have custom stays WORN WITH CHEMISES???!!??? Those are literally foundation garments.

Please consider dressing your actors in period-accurate chemises or slips and using natural fibers--the glossiness of the polyester was jarring. Also, why are they consuming clothing as if there is fast fashion? It the fantasy-world of Bridgerton are there also sewing machines and plastic? Whatever could justify that choice?

They not finna waste all those clothes so it’ll most definitely be a season 2!!!😌

The costume was a let down. Polyester galore with plastic rhinestones and badly sewn dresses 😢 something like the show The Great is an example how making historical drama more contemporary can be a success.

Such shows are designed to white wash the all pervading racism that was prevalent in Colonial Britain. People of color respected as eligible bachelors in Victorian England let alone allowed to mingle with white people.. Yeah right.. At least in America they teach kids about the horrors of slavery and other historical wrongs done. But its not the same in Britain. The school system in Britain pretty much avoids the violent colonial legacy of its ancestors which oppressed and killed millions over the centuries. On top of that they come out with such shows to surreptitiously paint a rosy picture of history...

The first scene of the show where a woman was being tight laced was absolute nonsense. The silhouette of the Regency period is very loose and doesn’t even require a corset at all.
