I've been struggling with this since I was a teenager (27 now) and in some aspects it's getting harder over time because I get farther behind others my age while on the other hand, I learn to deal with it better and ... well, it's hard, is what it is). Hey Mike, have you checked out Healthily? It's a symptom checker that's (in my opinion) far better than web MD. They're good for knowing whether I should wait to go to my doctor or go to urgent care. But I also never take my symptoms seriously, so I sometimes need that push to actually go. Idk if it's good for people who always think of the worst case.

Typically my thoughts, when frequently waiting well to be seen well past my appointment time, are that the establishment have streamlined the common sense out of the profession...at least on scheduling. It never fails that people are constantly waiting long times...at many of the places I have utilized. If they would add 20 or even just 10 minutes more between scheduled visits this would help account for that often seen lapse time. Many people work for a living and taking off a couple hours for a doctor visit is okay, but I have spent hours just waiting, and it is hard for folks to take a day off work...

Honestly, after I got some MRI results I talked to my doctor, he answered my questions, but I went home and realized I was still a little confused about what was going on. Went online, did a little googling, learned a bit more about the anatomy and it made things a lot clearer to me. Didn’t change the diagnosis, didn’t change the treatment, but made me a lot more comfortable with my choice.

I can solve the paper problem. It takes a 15 minute sterile washer built into the table. Swap sheets every consult. Paper is good because in cases of fluids or soiling it's disposed of, not washed, and every tear is near sterile instantly. Paper is also hypo allergenic. Chemicals to sterilize absorbent cloth would likely not be. So, solvable, but the solution is worse than the problem.

Well Doctor Mike, what do you think about online check ups? Like a zoom call with your doctor and have a discussion there. Its sterile, quick and convenient. (if organised properly of course but that shouldnt be discussed now). Patients describe their symptoms and if a doctor thinks they need a physical they call them in for a proper appointment.
