No one, I mean NO ONE can play the ADOS on big screen better than the ADOS actor and actress!! ADOS actors and actresses have a special gift on the big screen, they are able to connect with our ancestors on a level that NO OTHER actor or actress can. It’s an unexplained feeling that I get when a ADOS actress or actor portrays one of our ancestors on the big screen. EACH AND EVERY TIME I WATCH AN ADOS ACTOR OR ACTRESS PLAY ONE OF OURS ON THE BIG SCREEN, I FEEL A SINCE OF PRIDE....GO VIOLA DAVIS, OUR TRUE HARRIET TUBMAN!!! CHADWICK, WE MISS YOU BROTHER.

When Ma Rainey demands her drink, "Where's my Coca-Cola?" I wonder if anyone else understood that was a direct reference to cocaine; cocaine was an ingredient in Coca-Cola at that time before it became illegal.

She gives goosebumps with her performance, I love her to the moon back

I watched this movie without any knowledge of who Ma Rainey was. I saw the scene where she demanded a coke and thought “tf I’m supposed to like this bitch?” But then when she delivers the monologue about how these white men don’t give a damn about her and only care about how much money she can make them, you realise that she’s 100% right and has every right to act the way she does. She’s one badass woman.

Every time I watch a movie by a black singer, it reminds me a lot of my mother, she did seem at age to be a soul music singer from the 70's. I'll NEVER forget her! 😍😢🙏🏻👌🏿

For those who was disappointed that this movie 🎥 wasn't about the life of Ma Rainey well, it wasn't a biopic it was a screen adaptation of August Wilson's play it was never intended to be a biopic. However the acting on both Viola's and Chad's characters was absolutely undeniable. AMAZING!!!!!

Just watched this film yesterday, and I predict: Oscars for Best Picture, Best Actress Davis, and Best Actor Boseman posthumously.

Just finished watching this movie. Although it was good, I can't help but be slightly disappointed. This movie was not about Viola's character Ma Rainey. It was mainly about Chadwick's character Levve.. Instead of naming the movie Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, they should have named it Levve's Fool A$$...

This was truly phenomenal! I was taken to the edge of my chair by so many emotions. All of the cast were wonderful! BEST FILM of the year!

Just give the Oscar to Viola!!!
